Automotive Spice for Cybersecurity

by Dr.Juan Pimentel,Nikhil Unnikrishnan published on August 25, 2022

The increasingly software-defined vehicles in development today along with V2X communication and Over-the-air (OTA) communication, cybersecurity has become of central importance within automotive product design. The ISO/SAE 21434 - Road Vehicles - Cybersecurity Engineering standard specifies engineering requirements for cybersecurity risk management regarding concept, product development, production, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of electrical and electronic (E/E) systems in road vehicles, including their components and interfaces. On the other hand, the UNECE regulation R155 requires, among others, the vehicle manufacturer identification and management of cybersecurity risks in the supply chain. Automotive SPICE is a recommendation of VDA (German Automotive Industry) to identify process related product risks. To incorporate cybersecurity-related processes into the scope of Automotive SPICE, additional processes have been defined in the Automotive SPICE for Cybersecurity recommendation. This webinar will address the topics in scope of Automotive SPICE for Cybersecurity and its relation to both the ISO/SAE 21434 international standard and the UNECE R155 regulation. Considerations for implementing Automotive SPICE for Cybersecurity will be also discussed.
