Organizations certified to IATF 16949 are required to perform regular internal audits, which include system, manufacturing process, and product audits. Organizations that supply to customers requiring VDA 6.3 are also required to regularly audit to VDA 6.3 and these are generally separate audits from the IATF 16949 audit.
